About us
Boulder Brighton is the city's independent, dedicated bouldering centre, built by climbers, for climbers, and open since 2013.
In a nutshell
We run an indoor bouldering centre just five minutes' walk from Portslade train station, on the Victoria Road Trading Estate. After years of planning and searching for the right site, we converted a vacant warehouse and opened our doors on 16 March 2013.
We're Tom and James, the directors. We've been climbing together since the last millennium, all over the UK and Europe and across countless walls around the world. At Boulder Brighton, we think we've built our favourite.

The centre
There's over 1,000 square metres of climbing, with more than 200 problems set across vertical walls, overhangs, slabs, a roof/cave section and a top-out boulder we call THE DUCK. Fontainebleau-style circuits group climbs together and set bigger challenges, and our in-house setting team, supplemented by visiting guest setters, keeps it all fresh.
More than the walls
There's a training and conditioning room with fingerboards, campus rungs, a pull-up bar, a 40° Moon board and an 8° spray wall, plus changing rooms with showers, a café serving locally roasted coffee and locally baked cakes, and a shop for shoes, chalk and the essentials.
